Congratulations! Your child has progressed well during the year and shown the ability to undertake their CSTD examinations.

These entries are due by FRIDAY THE 28TH OF AUGUST. 

Late entries will be accepted until the 4TH OF SEPTEMBER with a $50 late fee applied. NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THE 4TH OF SEPTEMBER!

 

Examinations in dance are the absolute best way of ensuring your child progresses well in his or her dance training, even the youngest student at 5 or 6 years of age benefits immensely by taking the very first little test. It is increasingly evident that the Parents of new students or youngest students feel scared to commit their child to exam. There is no need to feel this way, we will guide you and your child, and students are happy about the exam journey. All of our students achieve very well in exam, it is our job to prepare your child well and with many years of experience doing this our professionalism shows. A quote from a recent 6 year old on exam day was-: "This has been the most exciting day of my life" - "Can I do it again". We make the day "fun" and not scary in any way. It is highly recommended that students commence exams from a young age, look at how brilliantly our seniors dance at the concert or eisteddfod, they all commenced exams from 5 or 6 years of age and have completed every one of them over the years. I can't stress again how important these are to consider and a very necessary part of learning dance properly.

I look forward to seeing your child achieve well in his/her exam, however, if you decide not to enter your child I would ask that you notify me, Miss Kate immediately, preferably by way of a phone call, email or at an arranged appointment time with myself. Do not verbally tell your teacher that you are not entering. Please respond to this offer one way or another, a reply to notify me of your intentions is required, even if you decide NOT to enter your child for exams this time. Children are chosen for exams based on potential and readiness, not because everyone in the class enters. It is an honor to be chosen in itself.

COMPULSORARY REQUIREMENTS

• 3 Extra Sunday rehearsals (Included in the examination fee) Sunday the 6th, 13th and 20th of September 

• Dress Rehearsal (Included in the examination fee)

• Mini Vacation school (Included in the examination fee) October 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th

• Practice Music Please ensure you have your music on USB before this vacation school as without the music this can’t be rehearsed. Please bring $5 and a NAMED USB to receive your music. I will not be happy when I check on first day of Vacation School if students do not have these. (From experience Students will not practice without the music ever.)

• October 8th - October 11th (Thursday - Sunday first week of term 4)

PRIVATE LESSONS

 Fee is $60 per hour or part thereof as little students will not need an hour or you may choose to share a lesson with a friend, paying half the fee each. Private lessons are available on Saturday afternoons and during the first week of school holidays, please book ASAP as it is first in first served.

If you have any school camps during examination week I require notification now as so I can schedule around this.

The below cost is inclusive of exam fee, 3 extra Sunday rehearsals, Dress Rehearsal, AND 4 day vacation school. Teachers Certificate students are required to attend ALL classes equivalent to their certificate during Sunday lessons as well as vacation school.
